Suburban Stampede Baseball - Archive

Suburban has developed and supported select / travel teams for both boys and girls for over two decades. Over 415 boys and girls currently represent Suburban through the select program, with many having initiated their playing careers in the Suburban in-house leagues. Suburban teams are very competitive in the top leagues & Tournaments in the Omaha area.  Suburban Stampede players have gone on to play at 17 local area high schools this past year and several of those boys have received All State Honors and competed in their State Tournaments.

Program Goals:

  • Improvement in game fundamentals
  • Fair playing time for all players with an opportunity to learn multiple positions
  • Manageable increase in games vs. in-house
  • Emphasis on the selection of players with a history in the Suburban organization

Important Information:

  • Tryouts in June or July for following year
  • Season runs from late March or early April to early July.
  • Additional practice time required, with teams beginning practices as early as January or February.
  • Dedicated in season practice fields for Stampede teams to use for practices and alternate game sites.  
  • Costs for the additional games and equipment will be borne by the players families. 
  • Most teams annual budget is $1000 per player
  • Blue & Green teams can expect to be scheduled for 50 games including 6-7 Tournaments, White & Gray teams are scheduled for 42 games including 5-6 tournaments.  
  • Most games will be played in the Omaha Metro area with very limited to no regional travel to help control costs to families.
