BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL REGISTRATION CONTINUES!

A special shout-out to all who registered in January! It was our biggest January EVER and early registrations make it a lot easier for us to begin forming teams, identify coaches and place kids with their coach, player and school preferences, so THANK YOU!

If you haven’t registered your children yet, please do so as soon as possible! Some teams are full already, and the closer we get to March 1 the harder it is to accommodate player preferences.

For more information on Omaha Suburban Baseball and Softball Registrations please review our Frequently Asked Questions page: http://www.omahasuburban.com/faq. Click on the registration link below to register.

Baseball and Softball Head Coach Registration

If you are planning on head coaching one or more of our baseball or softball teams this season it’s especially important to register and let us know you are coming. We have a separate registration form for coaches to let us know which age groups they are coaching, team preferences and for our softball coaches their color preferences. Our calendar is tight once again this season to have teams organized, get uniforms ordered and build game schedules in time for opening days, so please sign-up now!

Calling All Umpires!

We are actively recruiting umpires for the spring baseball and softball seasons. If you have a son or daughter between the ages of 13 and 18, and they (or a family member) have played baseball or softball at Suburban then a job as an umpire might be for them. It's a rewarding responsibility that builds self-confidence, increases appreciation for the game and pays real money! The only requirement is to complete the free required umpire training taught by our Director of Umpires, Mark Opheim, which will be scheduled late in February or early in March. Details are available on our Umpire webpage: http://www.omahasuburban.com/umpires.

FREE Youth Coaches Clinics

We’d also like to call your attention to a series of FREE youth coaching clinics offered by Creighton Baseball Coach Ed Servais and the Creighton Baseball Academy. If you're coaching now or considering a coaching position this season these clinics are worthwhile! While the focus is on baseball coaching, most of the material is applicable to softball coaching too! Players and non-coaches are welcome to attend as observers to see how it works. We have a news article posted on our website with details on the clinic including how to register: http://www.omahasuburban.com/news_article/show/598709.

114th Street Widening Project

Finally, as many of you already know the City of Omaha will be widening 114th Street this year and the project will impact how we access Lamp Park during our season. Please review our Facebook post for information from the City: https://www.facebook.com/omahasuburban/posts/10155498353009069. We will do our best to communicate updates on access to Lamp throughout the season via email, Facebook and Twitter.

THANK YOU as always for your support of Omaha Suburban!
