First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

First Aid and Safety is something that is taken very seriously at Lamp Park.  Therefore, the Omaha Suburban Athletic Association, OSAA, wants Coaches, Families and Spectators to know that the Snack Shack contains an Automated External Defibrillator, AED.   This AED is a Heartstart FRx Defibrillator manufactured by Philips and contains an Infant Key Accessory to be used on a Child under 55 lbs.

This FRx defibrillator features Life Guidance intuitive, step-by-step voice instructions, including CPR coaching to help give first responders the confidence that's needed when treating cardiac arrest.  A clear, calm voice and descriptive visual icons guide you through every step, from pad placement to cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR and shock delivery.

AEDs become relevant when the emergency appears to be a sudden cardiac arrest (e.g., spectator, coach, umpire) or a batter's heart going into fibrillation from being hit in the chest by a pitch.

This AED is located in the Snack Shack and is clearly marked by the AED sticker on the outside of the white cabinet and can be obtained when the Snack Shack is open.

OSAA encourages citizens to learn CPR, but also to be ready to use a defibrillator in case of sudden cardiac arrest.  A First Aid kit is in the Snack Shack as well.
