Omaha Suburban Athletic Association

Suburban has developed and supported select / travel teams for both boys and girls for over a decade. Nearly 150 boys and girls represent Suburban through the select program, with many having initiated their playing careers in the Suburban in-house leagues. Suburban teams are very competitive in some of the top leagues in the Omaha area. Many Suburban Stampede & Pride players have gone on to play at local area high schools.

Program Goals:

• Improvement in game fundamentals
• Fair playing time for all players with an opportunity to learn multiple positions
• Manageable increase in games vs. in-house
• Emphasis on the selection of players with a history in the Suburban organization

Important Information:

• Tryouts July / August for following year
• Season runs from early April to early July.
• Additional practice time required, with some teams beginning optional practices as early as January or February.
• Costs for the additional games and equipment will be borne by the players families. 

The Omaha Suburban Athletic Association offers a Boys Select Baseball Program for age groups 10-14, the Suburban Stampede. Tryouts for these teams are held in early July. These open tryouts are posted in the newspaper, website and on the dugouts at the fields. We encourage any young man who plays in our in-house program to try out. Last season the 11 and 12 yr old teams finished strong and competed in the AA Nebraska state tournament with the 12 yr old team winning the State Title!  Congrats to Coach Hemphill his staff and players on that outstanding accomplishment!. Our 13yr old team competed in the AAA Nebraska state tournament. The Stampede 11’s ended their season winning the consolation bracket in the AA Nebraska state tournament and finishing the tournament w/ a 5-1 record.
